    Are there any limitations on access?

    No, once you become a Limerick Self Storage customer you will be offered free access during opening hours six days a week.

    What type of identification do I need?

    You will need a valid photo identification such as a Driving license or Passport and you will also need a current address

    Do I have to sign a lease?

    No! You sign a straightforward storage license agreement prior to moving into your unit. The contract takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

    Do I have to book a unit?

    No, you can arrive at our storage facility and fill in your storage agreement today and move in immediately. However, to be guaranteed a unit of a specific size on arrival it is advisable to call ahead and book your unit in advance.

    How do I get my goods to you?

    We offer a free move-in service if you are within 30km of Limerick Self Storage.

    You can bring your goods in your own vehicle if you have enough space. We have ample car parking and large loading/unloading areas at our store.

    Alternatively, we can recommend local van hire/removal companies to help with your transportation.

    Do I pay weekly or monthly?

    We invoice customers every week or every 4 weeks, payable in advance. However, we only ask for seven days notice when you vacate your unit and we refund you any unused storage charge (Full week).

    How can I pay for my storage?

    We offer a number of payment options including

    How do I know what size unit I need?

    All our employees are experienced and will give you advice. However, we recommend you visit the facility and see the different sizes available for yourself. Click here to go through our guide, which will indicate what fits into what.

    How will I know when my storage fees are due?

    An invoice will be generated every 4 weeks and sent to the email address given on the license agreement. Residential customers will be called 5 days before the due date as a reminder.

    If you wish we can notify you by fax, email, writing or phone.

    Can I transfer to another unit if I find I have too much or too little space

    You are welcome to move to another size unit at any time depending on your storage requirements and availability.

    What can I store?

    You can store almost anything in our units. The only exceptions are:

    • Living items such as animals & plants.
    • Hazardous materials such as flammable liquids and explosives
      Items that could decompose such as exposed foodstuffs.
    • Unauthorised or illegal goods such as firearms etc.
    • High value items such as Jewellery.
    What happens if I reserve the wrong size and when I move in it’s too big or too small?

    You are never tied to any particular unit, upon approval we will help you determine the best size for your goods. You will never need to pay for space you are not using and we are very flexible on sizes on the day

    What is the minimum time I can store with you?

    Our minimum storage period is 4 weeks but you can remove your goods anytime before the 4 weeks are up.

    Once you have paid your initial move-in, you can pay weekly after that.

    Once I have a unit how long can I stay?

    You are welcome to stay for weeks, months or years or for as long as you require.


    Do I have to give notice when I leave?

    For our residential customers, we need 1 week’s notice when you wish to vacate your storage unit

    For our business customers, we need 1 month notice when you wish to vacate your storage unit

    Will you accept deliveries?

    We accept deliveries and we also have loading bays, trolleys and forklifts at your disposal and we will also help with collections.

    Do we hold a key to your unit?

    For business customers, we will hold keys to your unit so we can facilitate deliveries to your storage unit

    For residential customers we do not hold your keys to your unit, so you are the only one with access.

    We have a large selection of packing materials, locks, bubble wrap and boxes.

    Is there someone at the store I can talk to should I have a problem?

    There will always be a trained member of staff available 6 days a week during reception opening times.

    Yes. We have a heavy goods lift that can hold a maximum weight of 1500KG

    How is the room alarm set

    You will be sent a PIN code which you use on entry and exit, to disarm and alarm your room.

    If you forget to set your alarm on exit, your alarm will automatically be activated after a short period of time.

    How secure will my things be?

    We have the highest level of Self Storage security with 24/7 monitoring fire & burglar alarms.

    I've forgotten my pin entry code, what do I do?

    As this information is security-sensitive you will need to call into our office and show ID where we will check your account to ensure you have access to the unit. We will then reconfirm the PIN entry code saved on your account.

    Please note, only persons named on the account as having authorised access will be given this number.

    What happens if I lose my key/combination code to my padlock?

    We can cut your lock off should this be necessary – don’t forget to provide a new padlock to secure your room afterwards. You can buy a lock for €20 at our packaging box shop.

    We keep a log of your security access code to the building – if you forget this we can go through some security questions with you and remind you of what this is

    Is there any damp in the building?

    No. We monitor the store regularly and have a facilities team that ensures any wear and tear is kept on top of to prevent issues of this nature from occurring.

    Are the storage units heated

    The storage facility is fully heated. The temperature of the facility needs to be correct to keep these items safe

THE PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND USE Personal information provided by you In the course of operating our self-storage business, we collect personal information when you provide it to us, such as your name, postal address, eircode, email address, phone numbers, date of birth, payment details, proof of identity. We also collect personal information from you if you apply for a job with us or work for us for any period of time. In this context, personal information we gather may include: contact details, financial and payment details, details of education, qualifications and skills, marital status, nationality, PPS number, job title, and CV. Personal information about other individuals If you give us information on behalf of someone else as an alternate contact, referee or next of kin, you confirm that the other person has agreed that you can: • give consent on his/her behalf to the processing of his/her personal data; • receive on his/her behalf any data protection notices; and Sensitive personal information We will not usually ask you to provide sensitive personal information. We will only ask you to provide sensitive personal information if we need to for a specific reason, for example, if we believe you are having difficulty dealing with your account due to illness. If we request such information, we will explain why we are requesting it and how we intend to use it. Sensitive personal information includes information relating to your ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, whether you belong to a trade union, your physical or mental health or condition, sexual life, and whether you have committed a criminal offence. If you provide us the details of a person who we can contact for a job reference, we may contact that person in connection with your job application. Who your information might be shared with We may disclose your personal data to: • service providers under contract with us to support our business operations, such as fraud prevention, debt collection, payroll, technology services • our insurers and insurance brokers if you take out insurance cover through us; • law enforcement or government agencies in connection with any investigation to help prevent or detect unlawful activity; • any person or agency if we need to share that information to comply with the law or to enforce any agreement we may have with you or to protect the health and safety of any person; • any person who you have named as a person we can contact to discuss your account; • any person who is your agent or representative, such as the holder of a power of attorney, a legal guardian or person administering a will; • any person who we are negotiating with as a potential buyer of our business or property or if we are proposing to merge our business with another business; • credit card associations if specifically required; If we pass data on to insurers, they may enter your data onto a register of claims which is shared with other insurers to prevent fraudulent claims. If we use an outside party to process your information, we will require them to comply with our instructions in connection with the services they provide for us and not for their own business purposes. KEEPING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURE We have appropriate security measure in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those people processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality. We will use technical measures to safeguard your personal data, for example: • access to your storage unit is controlled by key pad code which is unique to our Senior Staff and you • we store your personal data on secure servers; and • payment details are encrypted on the secure server and cloud back up system. We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable supervisory body of a suspected data breach where we are legally required to do so. While we will use all reasonable efforts to keep your personal data safe, you acknowledge that the use of the internet is not entirely secure and for this reason we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal data that is transferred from you or to you via the internet.
